Remote Year Business Description

Remote Year is a program for global professionals that travel for a year with interesting people while working remotely (12 cities, 12 months). Remote Year organizes accommodations, shared workspace, travel, and events in each city for the group.

Role Description

As the Workspace Manager at our co-working space, you are the face and the voice of the co working space. Your primary responsibilities are to manage the health and creativity of our space and to contribute to the growth and well-being of our community.

Responsibilities include:

  • Daily Operations

    • Manage day-to-day operations to ensure that our workspace is a successful work and community platform for the Remote Year group

    • Manage budget, budget to actuals and financial analytics

    • Manage on-site staff for operating hours coverage

    • Monitor and upkeep our facilities, including ordering and picking up supplies and coordinating with external contractors/vendors

    • Answer and follow up on email queries from customers

  • Local Community Development

    • Plan membership engagement activities and onboard new members

    • Coordinate and plan community events such as: networking events, seminars, happy hours, and workshops

    • Develop community between Remote Year participants and local community members

  • Business Development

    • Recognize and assess trends and develop membership growth campaigns

    • Apply creative approaches to grow sustainable customer base

    • Continually be expanding the vendor network and improving existing vendor relationships

Qualifications:

  • Experience operating and developing workspaces or community groups

  • Background in finance and business, legal a plus

  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with attention to detail

  • Excellent English and local language speaking and writing abilities

  • Experience managing teams

  • Ability to work with people in a social working environment

  • Entrepreneurial spirit with energetic and outgoing attitude
