Role Description

The SMB Sales Representative is a high impact position that is responsible for developing new business revenue. Remote Year is looking for an experienced sales representative who has a demonstrated record of closing services and other niche products to small to medium sized organizations. This individual will be responsible for the full sales cycle including outbound and inbound prospecting, pipeline building and closing business. The ideal candidate will have new business experience bringing a metrics driven and consultative selling approach, an ability to work cross functionally and, strong presentation skills. We are seeking an inside expert who is comfortable working with minimal oversight. The SMB Sales Representative is accountable for adherence to a tight sales process, meeting and exceeding activity metrics, and forecast accuracy. The ideal candidate has hustle and is a pro at generating volume and driving activity. This role will be located in Denver.


  1. Support the SMB Sales Manager to drive activity for SMB accounts, you are a hunter and aggressively pursue new account opportunities.

  2. Strategize, execute and track aggressive sales plan to achieve monthly/quarterly targets.

  3. Personally deliver sales presentations both virtually and where necessary in person on behalf of Remote Year to C-level contacts at small to medium sized companies worldwide.

  4. Understand the full scope of Remote Year’s mission and become a trusted advisor to clients around culture change, distributed workforces, and the value of remote work to both the individual and to the organization.

  5. Partner with the other sales team members and find creative new ways to drive up activity and volume.


  1. 2+ years experience in sales of unique services or SaaS to small to medium sized companies.

  2. Direct experience with working with Inside Sales, SDR and Demand Generation functions.

  3. A strong adherence to sales process and sales activities based on calls through to close.

  4. Experience with the lead generation process both in their sales team and with marketing.

  5. Demonstrated evidence of exceeding sales goals using a consultative sales approach.

  6. Demonstrated evidence in closing a service product to clients across industries.

  7. High organizational skills, as well as can bring a high level of attention to detail and efficiency while working under tight deadlines and on multiple initiatives simultaneously.
